TWS Media Presents Afrobella Radio

TWS Marketing Communications & Media is happy to announce the launch of Afrobella Radio, A TWS Media production. Blogger, writer and ‘twit-celebrity’, Patrice Yursik, aka Afrobella will officially launch Afrobella Radio on Blog Talk Radio on Thursday, July 1, 2010. Yursik’s first guests will be Aliya S. King, who has been featured in Vibe, Vibe Vixen, Giant, Uptown, and Essence just to name a few, and Angela Nissel, the author of two best-selling comedic memoirs: Mixed: My Life in Black and White and The Broke Diaries: The Completely True and Hilarious Misadventures of a Good Girl Gone Broke. She is also a former co-executive producer / writer for the Emmy award-winning television show, Scrubs. TWS Media, The Greenlight Project invite our listeners to tune in for Afrobella Radio’s official launch tomorrow at 11am ET and 10am CT.

Afrobella Radio will be the weekly on-demand airwaves embodiment of all things Afrobella – natural women, engaging and enlightening discussion, and insight about hair, beauty, culture and the things that make our lives fuller and more meaningful.

I’m kicking it off THIS THURSDAY AT 11 AM EST, 10 AM CT with two amazing guests who have inspired me more than they may realize.

My first guest will be Aliya S. King ! I have been reading her byline for years in magazines including Vibe, Vibe Vixen, Giant, Uptown, Essence…the list goes on. Aliya was one of the people who inspired me to pursue a different kind of writing – fun, edgy pop culture print journalism. She’s coming out with a new book – Platinum: A Novel!!

So I can’t wait to hear ALL about it from the author herself!

My second guest is the amazing Angela Nissel. Her book, The Broke Diaries: The Completely True and Hilarious Misadventures of a Good Girl Gone Broke, was SUCH an inspiration to me as a student attending the University of Miami. As an aspiring author seeking her own voice. As a young woman coming into her own awareness and ambitions. Angela is also the author of Mixed: My Life in Black and White, she’s a former co-executive producer / writer for the Emmy award-winning television show, Scrubs, she’s written for O The Oprah Magazine, Glamour, Allure…Angela is awesomeness personified. SO excited to interview her for the first time.

We’re going to talk about writing, living your dream, expressing yourself, having fabulous natural hair…all kindsa stuff.
